Omi, a Zwickau Photo

Old Woman making a face

Old Woman making a face

This is a photograph of my wife’s Grandmother, Omi, in German. This was taken a few years ago before she passed away. She lived in a retirement home and was incredibly vivacious and expressive, even though she was in her nineties.

Reflection in July

WindowReflection0977.Rauf I was traveling through the Southwest with my family and at my Mom’s suggestion we stopped in the Taos Pueblo. This image of a woman selling something reflecting in the window of the mud house caught my eye.

It is a blog which focuses on the beginning investor.  It targets small time investors who have limited capital to invest, but have a do it yourself attitude. It recently spoke about opportunities in Penny Stocks and Net Net Stocks as described by Benjamin Graham. Check it out!

Peruvian girl dancing

Just after sunrise our bus stopped in Yanque a town on the edge of the Colca Canyon in Peru. There was a cadre of people dancing in the early morning light for the tourists. This young girl caught my attention as she danced with the Andes in the background.

Pensive in the Yucatan

Woman sits on steps in Yucatan, Mexico

I took this shot of my wife on the rough hewn stone steps that led down to the natural pools that are all over the Yucatan. I loved the pensiveness of the moment as she looked down at the water.

Family in Ek-Balaam

Mother and her two daugthers in the village of Ek-Balaam, Mexico

Mother and her two daugthers in the village of Ek-Balaam, Mexico

At the Eco-hostel I stayed at, they had a walking tour of the village of Ek-Balaam. I met this family on the tour and stayed after the tour had moved on. The woman made tortillas as her daugthers helped. The little one fetched water from a communal water source. Lovely family.
